When I was in Thailand we hitchiked with Kasia (travel mate), a couple took us, after that we had car accident. It was night and we had not any plan. We were just trying to run away from Pattaya. The polices asked that where we were going and staying? We said do not know. They offered us a room in police office. After that we met a woman who were helping her boyfriend in ambulence box. We became good friend. We called her Boss because he wants help everytime with serious face. One day we were layed down with Kasia and heard her sound "frends I need help". We moved a big wooden box from truck to ambulance. It was long box. Kasia asked;
- Boss is this coffin?
- Yes, someone died!

I did not believe, thought joke and forget it. After half an hour same sound "frend I need help" we went with Kasia but she said that she only needs my help. Kasia were happy and got back to bed and layed down.
I was going with her boyfriend by ambulance to somewhere. I just knew about mission that we would move smth. I did not have any idea about mission. We arrived a big building with tree-lined after 20 min drive. The environment was very quiet and restless there was bad energy. It seemed like hospital, we were in ambulance so it was normal. We got of from ambulance and walked to building. We entered from the gate, until that time I did not see anyone. When I entered the building, I saw the face of dead woman who lying on the stretcher, It was first thing I saw inside the building. At that moment they were covering her face but it was too late. There were a few people and staff.
I realy shocked and angry. I thought I did not need to see dead people, why she did that to me! In a few second I understand everything, it was coffin that we move and brought it to morgue. I walked away from the ambulance because I did not want to move that again, I was nervous. They took the box inside the building but we were still waiting. And some questions came directly to my mind; would we transport her by ambulance or travel with her to north of Thailand? (because we would go to north of Thailand a few hours later by ambulance and when I asked to Boss what would you do in north of Thailand she said they have smth to do)
Anyway, we waited around 45 min, people were looking to me. I talked with doughters of her and said I am sorry because I saw their mother face and photo, I did not know her but I felt sad about passing away of her. There were 2 doughters and a nephew. After that we moved the coffin to ambulance. I was wondering that where we are going? The interesting things the driver did not

We got out from the ambulance and a few people came from the church. I could not escape, the driver catched and put me first line of the coffin.
I was in Thailand, I did not know anyone, I did not know in which city (not touristic) and who is she? I entered to the church in the first line of coffin with short, strap t-shirt and barefoot. It was too crawded, everything was ready for ceremony, people dressed up, incenses, candles, platform, flowers etc. Suddenly huge slient came to the church and everybody looked at me. They were seemed super surprised, I think they forget their sadness for a while.
We walked towards the platform around 30 sec. but it was too long for me. The people was confised about their feeling, I tried to did not look to their face but I saw a few people was smiling. I had not smile but my situation was pretty funny! I wanted to walk faster but It was not in my control. I was feeling my sweat and the monk cathced my eyes, I opened them bigger and nod my head

Finaly we putted to the coffin on the platform, quickly I turned back and went out. Ambulance driver got money of transport and I understand that we did a job. We got money and our job was dead transportation. It was realy super weird.
We got back to home and I directly asked; Boss why did you do that? She smailed very dirty and said "did you like your new experience"...

Tayland'da bir gece yarısı Kaşka (yol arkadaşım) ile Pattaya'dan uzaklaşmaya çalışırken otostop çektik ve bir çift aldı bizi. Sonra kaza yaptık. Hiç bir planımız yoktu. Polisler nereye gideceğimizi, nerede yatacağımızı sordu, bilmiyoruz dedik. Gelin polis ofisinde yatın dediler. Sonra ambulans ofisindeki erkek arkadaşına yardım eden bir kadınla tanıştık, arkadaş olduk. Boss diye seslenmeye başladık çünkü sürekli ciddi bir surat ifadesiyle; arkadaşlar, yardıma ihtiyacım var diyordu. Bir gün, yatakta uzanırken yine o sesi duyduk; arkadaşlar yardıma ihtiyacım var! Çıktık dışarı, kamyona gittik, uzun, yaldızlı, beyaz, ahşap bir kutu vardı, ambulansa taşıdık. O sırada Kasia sordu;
- Patron, tabut mu bu?
- Evet, birisi ölmüş!
- Sessizlik...
Düşündüm, tabut değil, şaka yapıyor dedim, unuttum gitti. Geri gittik odaya, tekrar uzandık, yarım saat sonra aynı ses; arkadaşlar yardıma ihtiyacım var. Çıktık dışarı, sadece sen gel tek kişilik bir iş dedi. Kasia mutlu mesut odaya döndü. Erkek arkadaşıyla birlikte gitmem gerektiğini söyledi, bir şey taşıyacaksınız dedi, tamam Patron dedim, bindik ambulansa, çıktık yola.

Görev hakkında hiç fikrim yoktu, çok da mühim değildi, gidiyorduk. 20 dk sonra bir binaya vardık. Ağaçların içinde, ölüm sessizliği olan bir binaydı, kuş dahi uçmuyordu, etrafta hiç kimse yoktu. Hastane olduğunu anladım, ambulansla geldiğimiz için normaldi, görev yeri burası heralde dedim. İndik ambulanstan, binaya doğru yürüdük, o ana kadar kimseyi görmemiştim. Binaya adımımı atmamla birlikte gördüğüm ilk şey; sedyede yatan ölü bir kadının yüzü oldu. Başında bir kaç yakını ve personel vardı, üzerini örtüyorlardı ama çok geçti...
Birden garip oldum ve sinirlendim, ölü bir insan görmeye hiç ihtiyacım yoktu çünkü. Patron neden bana bunu yaptın diye söylenip durdum içimden. Sonra her şey çözüldü kafamda. Taşıdığımız şey tabut, görevimiz de tabutu tekrar taşımaktı ama boş mu, dolu mu onu henüz bilmiyordum. Tabutu boş ya da dolu tekrar taşımak istemediğimden ambulanstan uzaklaştım, görevliler içeri aldılar. İşimiz bitti diye düşünürken beklemeye başladık, 45 dk sürdü ve aklıma başka sorular geldi. Cenazeyi ambulansla mı taşıyacaktık yoksa 1-2 saat sonra Tayland'ın kuzeyine ambulansla yapacağımız yolculukta bizimle mi olacaktı? Siz Tayland'ın kuzeyinde ne yapacaksınız diye sorduğumda işimiz var demişti Patron. Neyse 45 dk bu sorularla stres içinde bekledim. Bu arada kadının 2 kızı ve yeğeni oradaydı, onlara üzgün olduğumu söyledim çünkü kadının yüzünü ve fotoğrafını görmüştüm ve hiç tanımamama rağmen üzülmüştüm. Sonra tabutu ambulansa taşıdılar. İlk sorumun cevabını almıştım ama ne kadar bizimle olacağını henüz bilmiyordum. İşin tuhaf tarafı şöför tek kelime İngilizce bilmiyordu.
Yarım saat kadar gittik ve bir kilisenin önünde durduk sonunda. Kafamda soru kalmamıştı.
Ambulanstan indik, bir kaç kişi kiliseden dışarı çıktı, kaçamadım, şöför beni yakaladı ve tabutun en önünden tutturdu.
Tayland'dayım, kimseyi tanımıyorum, hangi şehirde olduğumu bilmiyorum, kimse İngilizce bilmiyor, cenaze taşıyor ama kimi taşıdığım konusunda en ufak fikrim yok. Üzerimde şort, askılı tişört, yalınayak, tabutun en önünde, kiliseye doğru yürüyorum. Kapıdan içeri adımımı attım, kilise büyük ve çok kalabalıktı, tören için herşey hazırdı; tütsüler, mumlar, çiçekler, insanlar tören için giyinmişti, mistik bir hava vardı. Aniden bir sessizlik oldu, herkes bana bakıyordu. Şaşkın ve acılarını bir an olsun unutmuşa benziyorlardı.
Kaideye doğru 30 saniye kadar yürüdük ama benim için epey uzundu. İnsanlar ne hissedeceklerini bilemiyor gibiydi, bir iki kişiyi gülümserken gördüm. İnsanların yüzüne bakmamaya, çok komik görünen halime gülmemeye çalışıyordum. Kendimi ne kadar tutabileceğimden emin değildim. Daha hızlı yürümek istiyordum ama benim kontrolümde değildi. Terlediğimi hissediyordum. Kaideye yaklaşınca papaz ile göz göze geldik, gözlerimi büyüterek kafamı "valla ne yaptığım hakkında en ufak bir fikrim yok sayın papaz" babında iki yana masumca ve hafifçe salladım.
Sonunda tabutu kaideye bıraktık, hızlıca arkamı döndüm, dışarı attım kendimi, kimsenin görmediğinden emin olunca gülmeye başladım ama çok karmaşıktı ruh halim. Sonra ambulans şöförü geldi, akrabalardan biri para ödedi. O an anladım ki; çalışmış, para kazanmıştık!
Geri döndüğümüzde Patron'u görür görmez; bana bunu neden yaptın diye sordum, pis pis sırıtarak; yeni tecrübeni beğendin mi dedi...
